The Tire Pressure Tracking System (TPMS) is an electronic system designed to keep an eye on the atmospheric pressure inside the pneumatically-driven tires on your vehicle. The system reports current tire pressure details to the driver on each tire; a brownish-yellow caution light will certainly illuminate on your dashboard if there is an issue in the system, or if a tire is reduced.

In the U.S., TPMS modern technology was phased into car beginning in 2005. By 2007, 100 percent of new-car production had the system. European vehicles reached one hundred percent of production in 2012.

The advantages of TPMS are:

Fuel economy-- 10 percent under-inflation of one tire can create a decrease in fuel economic situation of 1 percent.

Prolonged tire life-- Under-inflated tires are the No. 1 root cause of tire failure as well as contribute to tire disintegration, warmth build-up, ply splitting up as well as sidewall/casing malfunctions.

Reduced downtime and upkeep-- Under-inflated tires result in costly hrs of downtime as well as maintenance. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, tire flats and failures are the No. 1 source of breakdowns on National Highways.

Improved security-- Statistics show that the quantifiable effects of under-inflated tires are 40,000 accidents, 33,000 injuries and 650 fatalities every year.
Effectively inflated tires include higher stability, enhanced handling and stopping performance, leading to better security for the drivers, guests, vehicles and others when driving. We advise keeping this system in good functioning order as well as responding to any type of caution indicators prior to there is an issue.
