When was the last time you put new tires on your vehicle? If you’re like many drivers, until you get a flat tire or end up hydroplaning on the highway, thinking about purchasing new tires is not at the top of the list of your vehicular priorities! However, there are many small signs that indicate it’s time for new wheels to keep your car and passengers safe while you’re driving.
6 Signs That You Need New Tires Bald Tires: The most glaring sign that you need to replace your tires is tired that is obviously bald. Bald tires are more likely to fail in any conditions, but especially in rainy, snowy or icy conditions. Without tread, your tires cannot properly brake, turn corners and drive safely. Cracks or Gouges in the Sidewalls: Any damaged tire is unsafe to drive on, so if the sidewalls on your tires are cracked or have gouges in them, you should invest in new tires. Poor wheel alignment can contribute to this problem, so make sure that you have your tires aligned whenever you go in for vehicle maintenance. Shaking: Is your car shaking when you drive? While poor-quality roads might be the culprit, poor tire quality, bad tire alignment, and balance issues are also common problems. Out of Warranty: Most tires come with a manufacturer’s tread wear warranty that ensures them to last for a certain amount of time or a certain number of miles. Once your tires are out of warranty, you should strongly consider having them checked and think about buying new tires that will be under warranty. Spare Tire: Have you been treating a spare tire like it is a normal tire? If you are relying on your spare tire, you need to replace it with a regular tire that is built for regular usage. Spare tires are only designed for temporary use, so you will have less traction, less cornering ability and poorer driving experience. Cords: Can you see the cords through the rubber on your current tires? That means that your tires are not safe for use while driving, and you are putting yourself at an increased risk of a blowout or flat. My brother bought a car recently and noticed a small crack on the sidewall of a tire. I liked that you mentioned damaged tires are unsafe to drive on, and you need to consider replacing them immediately. I will let him know about the signs that he needs to replace his tires to help him.

Thanks for helping me identify the signs that a car's tires are going bad. I had no idea that if a tire has weird cracks on its sidewalls, it means that you might have been using the vehicle even though its tires are misaligned. My friend told me that his BMW is showing tire cracks, and he's asking me for advice on how to deal with them. I'll share this with him and suggest that he replace his tires by going to a tire shop.

Thanks for pointing out that we should maintain our tires to prevent accidents while on the road. As you said, tires that have cracks in them should be replaced immediately. This is really helpful because I will be going on a road trip next week to relax and unwind. I will also look for towing services on Friday that I can call to ensure I can get roadside assistance in case I get a flat tire.

I am glad your article brought to my attention that bald tires need to be replaced. My husband's tires on his car are quite bald. I'll suggest that he get new tires as soon as he can.

It stood out to me when you explained that shaking is an indication that your car needs new tires. I have noticed in the past couple of days that my car shakes when I reach higher speeds. I should probably get my tires replaced so that I don't risk getting into some kind of accident.

It never would have occurred to me that a shaking car can mean that you need new tires. I always thought cars shake slightly when they reach high speeds. It seems like I am going to need to have my tires replaced as soon as possible.
